What am I – an illustrator, artist, maker or doodler? There’s a podcast I often listen to that interviews people who sell what they make on Etsy. It’s called Etsy Conversations and one of the questions the host Ijeoma often asks her guests is how they describe themselves – as an artist, a maker or a crafter. It’s a question I love to hear the various answers to, but it’s one I feel quite uncomfortable answering myself.

Since I first started doing the custom portraits of stick figure couples for Valentine’s Day, I’ve expanded my range of personalised drawings a bit, so I thought I’d showcase some of the stuff I’ve done. Some interesting facts about greeting cards… Did you know that in the UK we spend an estimated £1 billion on greeting cards annually? The average person apparently sends around 55 cards per year. I know quite a few people don’t send any, so some people out there must be sending huge numbers of cards to get that average up so high! In the US they buy around 6.5 billion greeting cards per year, amounting to about $7 billion.
