Last week I walked the Great Glen Way in Scotland, and it was one of the best holidays (though also most knackering) that I’ve had in ages. I could quite happily move to Scotland in a heartbeat – the countryside is stunning, the people are so friendly and the Scots make heavenly whisky!
While we were ‘training’ for the walk (i.e. going on long walks to various pubs), my boyfriend snapped this great pic of a Highland cow near where I live in Hertfordshire, which seemed like a good omen.
Sadly the only Highland coo we saw whilst actually in Scotland was the one on the T-shirt he’d bought a few weeks ago…
This is my quick attempt at sketching a highland coo in pencil and then a version I later did with colour pencils. Steel yourself for more Scottish themed drawings as I was very inspired and am likely to remain obsessed for a while yet!
