Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but earlier this year I invested in a pyrography kit. I love it – I get to draw and burn things at the same time! It’s taken a bit of getting used to, and takes longer than drawing on paper, but it’s really fun and gives some great results.

Last week I walked the Great Glen Way in Scotland, and it was one of the best holidays (though also most knackering) that I’ve had in ages. I could quite happily move to Scotland in a heartbeat – the countryside is stunning, the people are so friendly and the Scots make heavenly whisky!

Finding a Drawing Style
I can usually recognise the artwork of my favourite artists and illustrators immediately – I guess similar to bands whose songs you can recognise even if you’ve never heard them before, each artist has a signature drawing style. It’s what makes them different from everyone else. What I’m interested in is how they developed this style in the first place.
